##(FAQ) Compatibility & Battery Selection
1. What battery pack is this charger designed for?
This charger is engineered exclusively for 12S lithium-ion battery packs (44.4V nominal voltage) with a full-charge cutoff voltage of 50.4V.
2. Can I use this charger for a 13S (48V) or 10S (36V) pack?
No.
A 13S "48V" pack requires a 54.6V full-charge voltage.
A 10S "36V" pack requires a 42.0V full-charge voltage.
Using this 50.4V charger on the wrong pack size will cause severe undercharging or dangerous overcharging.
3. Can I use this charger on lead-acid batteries?
No. This unit utilizes a CC/CV lithium charging profile. Lead-acid batteries require a completely different charging algorithm and will be damaged.
Operation & Performance
4. How does the charging cycle work?
CC Mode (Constant Current): Delivers a steady 16A into the pack until the voltage reaches 50.4V.
CV Mode (Constant Voltage): Holds 50.4V constant while the current tapers down naturally.
Cutoff: Charging stops automatically when the pack is full, and the indicator turns green.
5. Is it safe to leave the battery connected overnight?
Yes. The unit features automatic overcharge cut-off protection, making it completely safe to leave connected overnight.
6. Why is the charger case warm during operation?
Under a heavy 16A continuous load, moderate warmth on the fireproof ABS+PC housing is completely normal. The internal high-speed fan and radiating fins actively pull heat away from the FR-4 circuit board and dissipate it through the shell.
Safety & Protections
7. What built-in safety mechanisms does the unit feature?
The charger includes six layers of protection:
OVP: Over-Voltage Protection
OCP: Over-Current Protection (17.5A max, auto-recovery)
SCP: Short-Circuit Protection (below 0.1 $\Omega$, auto-recovery)
OTP: Over-Temperature Protection
Overload Protection
Automatic Overcharge Cut-Off
Pre-Order Checklist
Before placing your order, please verify two crucial points:
Voltage Verification: Confirm your battery is strictly a 12S lithium-ion pack (50.4V full charge).
Current Handling: Due to the powerful 16A continuous output, verify that your battery's internal BMS, wiring, and charging socket (such as Anderson 50A or XT90) are rated to safely handle a continuous 16A load.
